"From out of the earth, with understanding, the potter is able to make everything."

Redware was one of the first types of pottery to be made in the Colonies.
Immigrants arrived in the new land with few material possessions.  Everyday household items were often created out of red clay, dug from the banks of streams in low lying areas.  The term Redware, derives its name from the red colour of the iron rich clay.  Redware pottery was produced in many regions throughout America, but was most prolific in Southeastern Pennsylvania.  These Pennsylvania potters continued to practice their craft throughout the 19th century.

Receiving a parcel containing merely bits
of a once beautiful piece of pottery is
tragic indeed.  In an effort to protect your
investment should such a loss occur,
shipping insurance is required on all
purchases of Redware.
